I think Nelson is the greatest place in NZ for mountain biking and cycling.
Nelson is surrounded to the East, South, and West by hill ranges, which, aside from being great for mountain biking, protect Nelson from the weather, giving the warm and sunny climate Nelson is famous for. To the North is Tasman Bay, a beautiful sheltered seascape perfect for all kinds of water sports.
There are countless mountain bike rides to do in Nelson, but my favourite area to ride is on Fringed Hill, just five minutes ride from my house.
